Mediterranean Turkey Burger with Smoked Kalamata Tapenade

Mediterranean Turkey Burger with Smoked Kalamata Tapenade

So sorry for the delay! The first time I made this recipe it was to make a Mediterranean style bowl with roasted peppers, lemony potatoes, roasted cauliflower, turkey meatballs and tzatziki however we just did a little winter camping trip and I turned those balls into a burger patty and it was next level!
Up to you but with this recipe the possibilities are endless...you could even pack it on a skewer and throw it on the BBQ...hmmm I think I just figured out dinner for tonight.
Without further ado here is the recipe and let me tell you that Smoked Kalamata Tapenade of ours is a flavour bomb that you will love in this recipe!

Ingredients:
  • 2lbs Ground Turkey
  • 2 Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 Egg
  • 3/4 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup Milk/Milk Alternative (I used Oat Milk)
  • 1/2 Cup Fume-eh Smoked Kalamata Tapenade (half a jar)
  • 1 Tbsp Dried Oregano
  • 1/2 Tbsp Paprika
  • Pinch or More of Cayenne (Optional)
  • Salt & Pepper to Taste*
*(Everyone has their own salt preference so start with a little and then cook a small bit of your mixture in a pan and give it a taste, adjust from there)
Instructions:
Pretty self explanatory really, just mix it all up! Like I said before its always a good idea to check your seasoning before you portion and cook the patties, what a waste of time if it's not how you like it.
Once you've done your taste test form it into patties or balls if that's the route you want to take. You can easily get six patties out of this recipe but I have teenagers so I just make four and sigh at the grocery bill every week.
I find that if I freeze the patties, even for just 20 minutes before cooking they hold their shape a little better.
You can throw these on the grill, sear in a pan and finish in the oven or throw them in your air fryer if you like they are amazing any which way!
Time to serve?
I like to serve them with Tzatziki (homemade or store bought, no judgment here), red onion, tomatoes, lettuce and pickles. They are also great with a little bit of hot sauce!
